Summertime at Gtown Farm



everything grows and changes so quickly this time of year that as i post these photos in mid july, the luscious lettuce and snappy peas you see are a memory that's already been replaced by waves of chard and carrots and beets and squash, soon to be joined by tomatoes and potatoes and so much more. the mix of hard work and incredible weather is creating a bountiful harvest for us and our extended community. a lot of the real exciting action is going on in the kitchen these days as folks experiment with preserving pickles and kim chi and sarukraut, blanching kale and anything else that will get us through the winter. meanwhile, the daily multiple quart jars full of goat milk in our fridge are being processed into yogurt and cheese, we're saving and replanting our kale seed, we're harvesting berries and the apples are soon to come, and we're getting better and working out the kinks, together. i feel so lucky to be here helping to make this all happen. here's a peak into our world:
